G-ADYS, Aeronca C3

I am trying to try and locate G-ADYS an Aeronca C3, this a/c seems to be the sole survivor of Bedford School of Flying based at Barton(Beds) aerodrome in 1939/40 at the minute….

Leslie Kimms book ‘wings over Nazeing (1945-54)’ list it as one of the visiting aircraft as owned by the Bedford School of Flying, the school had already sold it off at auction in December 1940 so this must have been a later owner.

I can find a lot of pictures of her in the late 80’s painted bright yellow, most seam to put Salisbury as the location?

There is also mention of G-ADYS in ‘Aeroplane Monthly’ of October 1990 (restoration feature??)

Jenna,

Send me a PM with your email address and I will forward it to Paul Gliddon, I am in regular email contact with him.

Hi,
I’m looking for detaied photographs for building a highly detailed giant scale model of this particular C-3. It would be very grateful if you could lead me to Paul Gliddon.

Many thanks and best regards
