hello all
pardon me if I’ve missed any recent news on this, just wondering what’s the current status of this aircraft? An older thread stated it was being reassembled after purchase by Peter Monk, any details since then? Is it being gone through somewhere, or is it in store?
cheers

You never know, Newforest, one day you might!
Looking less and less likely each day but if I did, I would probably rename it ‘Spirit of Vivian Bellamy’, one time owner and 100% aviation character.:)

Was that at the Pink Floyd concert when, if my memory still serves me correctly, it formed part of the performance of ‘Dark Side of the Moon’?
i WISH!- it was just an Airshow-i THINK it was 1976 because it was a record breaking summer and i remember almost passing out in the queue for ice cream!

Unfortunately the rumour is that it will revert to THAT yellow colour!
If it does it will be the original shade – rather than ‘THAT yellow’.

I hope they do go for THAT colour!-it was the first Spitfire i ever saw-it’ll bring back memories of Knebworth, ’76!

I grew up with the blue colour, saw it almost everyday, that it is why it is my preference, but then I don’t own it do I!:D

As Alan Ross told us in February, it is at Kemble. Unfortunately the rumour is that it will revert to THAT yellow colour!
I’d quite like that….:diablo:

As long as it’s not finished in Dutch colours:p

Reverting to its original period civil colour, all over trainer yellow, as converted in 1946 with the class B registration N32, followed by the civil registration G-AIDN.
Maybe it will, maybe it wont, but it is under consideration.

Well personally i must admit that will be a refreshing change.. in the same respect that Spencer Flacks MK XIV G-FIRE was also in colours that were ‘a bit different’.

Owned by Paul Andrews and being sympathetically (i.e. slowly) restored to flying condition “somewhere in Southern England”.
