G-AMEG Tiger Moth – any history?

This was a wartime Tiger taken onto the civil register postwar by Rollason and sold to the Thai Navy. Did it have any civilian existence or was this purely part of a paper trail? Do any photographs exist?

Details for G-AMEG………….. C/n 84187 Cowley built RAF Serial T 7809.

Registered 20 Sept 50 to Rollasons. Cancelled as “sold abroad” 18 Jan 51.

This was one of a number of Tigers that passed through Rollasons in late 1950 / early 1951 destined for the Royal Thai Navy.

As indicated above the registration marks may have been chalked onto the airframe for a ferry flight.

Planemike……………

In 1950, the Royal Thai Air Force purchased thirty Supermarine Spitfire XIV from the
United Kingdom, comprising twenty-four F14E model and six FR14E model, at a cost of
£16,340 each, designated Fighter Type 14. Four of PR19 reconnaissance version were purchased in 1954.

Wouldn’t it be great to build a time machine…………..:D

Thanks for the help. With only four months on the register, it’s unlikely to have carried more than a rough scrawl of a registration, if that. Ah well.
