G-ARPP the defunct Trident kept at Glasgow Airport for many years has been chopped up for scrap, with only the nose surviving and taken to the aviation museum in Dumfries.
I should have known they were up to something when I saw it’s contents being emptied into a skip the other week.

Andy.
“I think that it would be a shame to get rid of the one at LHR, because its only one of two tridents in the UK that look fully in-tact.”
I think you’ll find that there’s a pretty intact Trident at RAF Cosford. Unless of course they have moved it within the last fortnight.
“I think that if BA get their way it will probably go, Leaving only one nice looking trident in the UK, and thats the one at Duxford.”
I should think that BA have little interest in the LHR example for the simple reason that the one at Cosford is part of the British Airways museum there.

There’s a story ongoing about the Heathrow Trident. Basically the Trident Preservation Society have had their airside passes stopped by the Health and Safety authorities denying them access to the plane they helped to restore, BA are also discussing the removal (scrapping) of the plane to free up some parking space.
