G-AWZK Trident 3B move to Manchester

I now have started a thread of pictures of our Trident 3B being transported from LHR to MAN viewing park.

The pictures can be viewed here:

Only the vertical tail is still left at LHR. That will be moved up and we expect reassembly to commence within the next couple of weeks.

Will this Concorde be going inside T5?

Err…no.
Too many retail outlets inside for there to be any room 😀
It certainley doesn’t appear on any of the T5 drawings 😉

And as I walked out of the office this evening there it was back again on it’s berth next to old R23….looking a bit cleaner as well… 😀

She was towed across to the maintanence area for a wash down and is now having some attention in a hangar. The Concorde SST website has this thread. See:- http://p102.ezboard.com/fconcordesstfrm2.showMessageRange?topicID=5425.topic&start=1&stop=20

Who’s nicked the Concorde?

Not only hast he Trident gone from LHR, but I just noticed this morning that G-BOAB has disappeared from her berth next to the old R23.

I had noticed that she was starting to look a little grubby lately so I wonder if she’s been towed away to maintenance for a spruce up, prior to being taken to T5, as the rumour goes.

Well its taken enough time…. (I infer you work at LHR?) you probably got used to passing a dismantled Trident on the way into work and now its vanished 😀

It nearly caused me to crash my car when enteirng the AVP the day after it arrived!!! Just casually driving along the tree-lined road, a sharp right into the AVP and WHAM..WHOA its’ here 😀

Great to see the bits arriving at last, I had a chat with Neil about it whilst visiting the AVP in May. Can’t wait to pay a visit once reassembly is complete.

That’s spooky…..I noticed this morning coming into work when I looked over across the runway to Engineering and noticed it had gone, and then lo and behold there’s a thread about it…. 😀

There isnt an APU but she will be powered by a ground supply and many of the systems do still work. Somewhere I hve a little video clip showing the aircraft at night powered up.

Great news I am pleased to see that the move has finally begun. Will she be capable of apu ground runs when she is reassembled?
