How fantastic is this;

Shame it has been, at least for the moment, been killed off by the H & S brigade.

In fairness I don’t think the competence of the people involved was an issue.
.
The guys doing the work, were NOT the one’s I was referring to – it was the plethora of muppets both in ‘internet-land’ and spouting H&S legislation out of their posteriors at the skilled and qualified crew who were trying to operate a safe system.

Not how I read it.
If the Aeropark have taken the aircraft on the understanding that it isnt powered up (and it is on loan to them after all), then they should respect that.
As I said earlier, Health and Safety is always an excuse – it is there to ensure that things are done safely, not to stop things being done – though that is very often the excuse used.
I suspect that the insurance company havent even got involved.
The French way is always different, though that PPrune thread was worth a read – the French guys stated exactly what they did and didnt do on their aircraft, and it is far from fully live. I could still read a cached copy via a Yahoo search last night – I dont know whether it is still possible.

Fair enough, but it doesn’t stop the Musee de l’Air from powering up their Concorde. Slavish British obedience to health & safety, tyrannical insurance companies and other sundry jobsworths, as per usual.
