G-HUNT sold?

An old UK/European airshow favourite, the ex-Danish AF Hunter owned and flown in the UK by Spencer Flack back in the 80’s is now listed on Courtesy as ‘sold’. She hasn’t flown since 1992, so it will be interesting to see where she moves on to.

So, lets get this straight – it flew with CJFM, where it was hangared, then flew to Oshkosh, where it was still hangared. Serious corrosion seems unlikely, though I would be surprised if there wasnt some!

Wings arent necessarily a problem – there are a good few Swiss spares still floating around, with paperwork.

Yep, it was painted red and owned by Jet Heritage out of Hurn.
It was the only Mk.4 flying worldwide before the accident.

Ok thanks stringbag, i thought it was red hence my confusion about its identity.!

When paying $30.000 for a Hunter; surely its with restoration/airworthiness in mind, or would a museum pay this for a static Hunter (or an operator for parts)?

I seem to recall from posts a good while back, either on here or on WIX, that it’s more likely to be a static or parts machine now as it had some bad corrosion issues…hence the price.

Memory is playing tricks with me.. but i thought that it was G-HUNT that crashed near i think Dunsfold a few years ago after an engine fire whilst flying downwind, taking pilot John Davies with it.??

Could someone please clarify..

I have been keeping an eye on this bird since it appeared on Courtesy’s website. Nice to hear it finally moved.
