Taken from Ringway Reports:

Anyone know why it hasn’t been painted in the same scheme as LSAA/B/C? Are they not planning to keep it? I’m not a big fan of it!

Yes but surely if they want to expand they must try airports like Aberdeen and Norwich which at current moment have potential but no actual low cost aircraft based. Manston is also a good move.
It would be good but the only Route I think MSE-AMS could work that was one off EUjets top routes;) They both look brilliant in white hope they all where white.

Southampton has FlyBE, which is a Low cost carrier.
Oh yes forgot all about flybe.

Thats pretty far south!
Why must they do it?
Seriously, and sorry to start a rant here, it REALLY annoys me when people (mainly you on here), think they know what an airline should do and how to operate. I think they have a far better idea than us. If your considering offering your advice, then it always wise to check your facts. As below, you said that Norwich didn’t have a loco based and it does.
Sorry if i’m seaming harsh guys, it just really winds me up that every thread about Jet2 turns into this. Fair enough, it’s making conversation, but sometimes it is time to talk about something different.
It needed to be said mate.

Southampton i would not think there would be enough demand on routes!!!
Southampton has FlyBE, which is a Low cost carrier.
By: Oasis747 - 6th August 2006 at 13:41
the south is easy jet and ryan air terratory jet2 should get some more routes running from ncl, and some work in scotland would do em well.
I have to say as much as i would like more jet2 routes from the south(mainly lgw) there are to many low cost flights here anyway. They would strugle greatly at:
lgw-due to easyjet
stn-due to ryanair
ltn-due to easyjet
and well Heathrow they wouldnt have a chance as it doesnt accept lcc.
Southampton i would not think there would be enough demand on routes!!!

Manston is also a good move.
No its not, not for someone like Jet2

B757-200 G-LSAD is due at Southend in 6 weeks time for a repaint again. Currently she’s wareing an interim sceam due to Jet2.com Ltd requiring her in service at MAN for the busy Summer peak season

I’ve just arrived home from MAN where we landed a few hours ago and taxi’d right behind LSAD. Has to be said, she doesn’t look so bad in the flesh!

What about flybe at Norwich, they have quite a base there.
Suggest you get your facts right.

Aberdeen is more likely to see FlyGlobespan, which is rumoured to be started next summer.

But serving the UK’s north destinations, it’s just the way the aicraft is being based.

Aberdeen could be a potential low cost base.
Maybe JET2 should consider expansion down south, Cardiff, Exeter, Norwich and maybe Manston been possible places to have bases. Scotland has potential with Aberdeen and maybe expansion into Europe like Easyjet did.
By: by738 - 5th August 2006 at 17:38
Wonder if JET2 will ever start up in Scotland, i think Aberdeen and Prestwick have potential.
They already operate in Scotland, but with minimal routes from EDI.
They havent really shown much expansion though. There are always rumours od EDI-MAN being cut.
Cant see PIK being a base. FR would murder them.
