How long is ‘BD on lease to Virgin Nigeria for? Was an easy paint, removing the Star Alliance scheme, but its falling off already!
Hope they look after her when she does head off for Lagos. She was in good nick when I flew her last July!

Hi all,
Definately still using Midland Crew as the flight deck said Midland 292 by mistake just now to ATC as the lovely big plane roared overhead on a Sfd departure.
Love big aircraft and dont see this one enough as normally takes off in the other direction most days!

The livery doesn’t exactly jump out and grab you

It’s just enough livery to look recognisable.
Well it is as long as it stays stuck to the aircraft! 😉

It’s just enough livery to look recognisable without being too expensive to repaint in a few months time. Economics, etc.

Apparently leased from bmi until May when Astraeus should take over with 767’s, the A330 will then return to bmi and replace the 767 (whose lease finishes at the around the same time)

Short term lease using bmi cabin and flight crews.

Is this a Dry, Wet or Damp lease?
If Dry will Virgin still be providing pilots from their Airbus pool?

Calm down, calm down!!!
We needed G-VSUN back for our own operation (for the new Nairobi service) and G-VBUS is returning to its lessors immediately. The Midland A330 is doing the LGW-LOS service for a few months while G-VSUN does LOS-JNB. After a few months the airline will be operating with B737 and B767 (as some of us thought it should be from the start). From my perspective this is great news as it means no more occasional 10 day tours through LOS on behalf of VK. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy going to LOS… just not for the best part of 10 days!

I thought that BD had a shortage in long-haulers. One would have thought that if BD had to get rid of a plane it would be the ArkeFly 767. After all, the amenities on board are nowhere near those on then A330, and some customers have been complaining about it.

To me this airline is getting worse making more stupid desicions every day.
They are short enough on long haul aircraft and now they lease it out to another carrier.
I suppose they will earn a little on this but what about their own long haul programme?
Maybe its just me and maybe my opinion is stupid but I really cant see this airline ever getting anywhere.

I probably sound really stupid by asking, but why do they have that A330?
