Gainjet 737 SX-MTF at EGSH…

Hi all…

Just a couple of shots of the latest biz movements at SaxonAir and NWI.

SX-MFT Boeing 737-329 (BBJ/VIP) sat on stand 8 after arriving in the twilight with the Chelsea football team on board.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for that G1 information. I think that it is the most graceful twin turboprop there has ever been. I’ve always wondered what it’s power to weight ratio is/was, with those powerful Darts strapped to its wings.

Yup, Ford’s Gulfstream 1 was the first I saw at Southampton (Eastleigh), naturally (home of the Transit). Made the Daks look a bit ancient!:)

According to my research, there were 6 Ford G-159’s.
CN. 024 was destroyed in an accident
CN. 048 has been scrapped
CN. 075 is sitting in Brazil withdrawn
CN. 076 unknown (last reported in South Africa) probably scrapped by now
CN. 135 has been scrapped
CN. 177 is sitting at WIHH withdrawn

Of course you do, shame you can’t have two avatars! 😀

I know it’s sad, but even as a kid, I was transfixed by the Gulfstream 2, which was the most modern version at that time. I used to like the G1 also. The Ford Motor Company used to have 3 G1s based at nearby STN. A Gulfstream 2 belonging to them, but based and registered in the US, used to visit from time to time.
