Gannet question

I am curious to know why Gannets have a concave circle on the outside of their weapons bay doors ? The only reason I can think of is that it might have something to do with the undercarriage operation .

It is! The depressions allow the undercarriage main gears to be lowered if the weapons bay doors failed in the open position. I believe they were added after an incident with one of the prototypes where that situation occured and damage was caused.
