Gannets never flew-they repelled the ground!

Due to a visit to the soon to be defunct Modelzone, I’ve just purchased the Revell 1:72 model of this aircraft.
Should be free of ownership squabbles.
Kind Regards,
Scotty

Nothing new on her website. I don’t think she’s actually been fired up yet

Any more news on this one?

Followed this one with interest, when they said they wanted to overhaul and return it to original condition judging by the website pictures they certainly meant it, that is one nice air frame.

A long and convoluted story Creaking Door

If only it could do a tour of the UK…
Well, thatโs something I do not understand from the original quote I took from the current ownerโs website:
…after the purchase, a crew was in the process of flying it to the UK in 2004…
After it was purchased?
By: Arabella-Cox - 14th June 2013 at 10:35
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow ๐
Glad to see they’ve even kept the ‘leaping big cat’ zap just after the serial number – I remember noting this when XT752 was pulled out for the annual ‘Beat the Retreat’ at Culdrose c.1983…
If only it could do a tour of the UK………………………………

Did somebody drive a tug over that right wing support, or is that the way it’s supposed to be?
The supports are deliberately cranked – better seen from this angle of a picture the other one: http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/000136645.html

And Hunter Flying have XL500 registered as G-KAEW
By: Arabella-Cox - 13th June 2013 at 19:46
So does that mean that a Gannet is cleared to fly on the civil register in the UK?
In fact this very Gannet graced the UK civil register as G-APYO before it became XT752, that was back in 1960.
Prior to becoming G-APYO it had carried serial WN365.

And now in our care at Elvington ๐
By: Mike J - 13th June 2013 at 17:57
So does that mean that a Gannet is cleared to fly on the civil register in the UK?
There has already been a Gannet operated on the G-register, by Neil Moffett back in the 1980s.

Good news about the Gannet. But a shame that, as is often the case with star items at Oshkosh, it is down to be parked up all week after arrival. Presumably this is so that it doesn’t interfere with the several dozen aerobatic acts and the massed formations of RVs and T-6 s that comprise the daily airshows there nowadays.

โIt was the right place at the right timeโ [Shannan Hendricks] said, purchasing [XT752] from the former Polar Air Museum (Fisk/Amjet collection) in Blaine, Minnesota [in 2003]. After the purchase, a crew was in the process of flying it to the UK in 2004, but mechanical problems forced the crew to reverse course over Greenland and return to Goose Bay, Canada.
So does that mean that a Gannet is cleared to fly on the civil register in the UK?
