I’ve been hearing dribs and drabs about Garuda talking to Boeing about a 24 aicraft order. Anyone else heard anything?
If not lets speculate what they might order.
I think any order is very likely to include or be based solely on these two:

Haven’t Garuda got 2 of the oldest 747’s about??? If so then it would be good to see some new planes

I have asked around. Most people said 737 if at all. Or they would need a really really good deal on the 787.

I thought their financial position was rather bad? Would they be able to get enough finances to afford a deal? Even if only a lease deal?
Still, any long range would be good. The AMS route always was fully booked but since it was the only intercontinental route the overhead costs killed it. Also a lack of planes plagued them. If they order new long range planes you can bet AMS will be back!
That’s of course assuming long rangers are bought. Another possibility is of course that they order 737NGs. They do have a few old planes that will need replacing in a few years. For instance the F28s and some of their older 732s.
You raise good points 🙂
Taking them into consideration, perhaps it is likely be a joint long range and short range aircraft order. Perhaps just the 787 and 737ng.
