Gathering of USAAF Legends

WW2 American aircraft air show in Europe (gathering of USAAF Legends)

Over the next few years there are many notable WW2 anniversaries popping up and i was just inspired by reading some of the memories of B17 aircrew who flew from basis in East Anglia. One mentioned 5 B17’s disappear on a bomb run in one huge explosion 50 men MIA who have no know grave. Quite near where i live there are many dedicated memorials to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice around Framlingham, Parham, Martlesham Heath, Wattisham. So i was wondering if any airshow organisers reading as a one off event could put together something like an American aircraft airshow possibly 2014/15 season in East Anglia. Im not sure of any venue but these come to mind Duxford, Bentwaters, Hardwick but im sure there are many others that would be sutable. I am in contact with my local radio station who could be possibly interested in supporting this.

Here’s a few aircraft i think would be a start but im sure more could be added ? B17 Sally B,Plane Sailings Cat (Miss Pickup )the TFC’s Hellcat, Bearcat, Corsair, 4,Curtiss Hawks, P51 Snafu, The P40 at North Weild, Red Bulls P38, B25, Corsair, the Dutch Cat, French Corsair, Meir Motors Corsair, the Dutch B25 Sarinah,the two Texans based at Duxford (there must be more)and of course the following P51 from Europe Miss velma, ferocious Frankie, Janie, Marinell, Miss Helen, Jumpin Jacques, Old Crow (to be renamed shortly)Nooky Booky IV, Damm Yankee, Trust Rusty, Scat VII,lucky Lady, Little Ite, Its About Time, Excalibur and P51D D-FBUN, TF-51D-DFTSI, DC3 from Iceland and the one from Norway and im sure there are other aircraft that could be added. Please feel free to add your wishes. If it cant/wont happen for real then perhaps a virtual on line show !
