From the British Film Institute, Gatwick in the 1960s.

Wish the photographer had got a head on shot of them. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a group photo of Ambassadors. Have searched hopefully for a Gatwick Swings part 2 lol.

I believe so.

Lovely film – thanks for posting it. Is that 3 Ambassadors behind the Comet at the end?

All those prop aircraft we took for granted then and would pay money to see now! I had forgotten some of those Airlines as well, also being reminded that Gatwick used to have quite a sizeable light aircraft park. You could see a Overseas National DC-8 on approach as a small Piper or Cessna had just landed. Good days.

It sounds as if I’m going to have to acquire one of those pieces of software that allows your computer to deceive websites as to its geographical location – such as the one acquaintances use in France to enable them to watch ‘catch up’ British television websites, such as the BBC iPlayer, from which foreigners are banned!

And the man doffing his hat to the stewardess! Great little film.

Nice looking back at Gatwick in ’67 when visitors to airports were welcomed and passengers were smartly dressed. Very good to see a BUA VC10 in the film as I flew from Gatwick in one during the same year (maybe the same one as I recall they only had a few) Unfortunately, although a lovely aeroplane, it took me to my new place of work in horrible Aden, so I have much fonder memories of the British Eagle Britannia that brought me home again some six months later.
Thanks for showing it.
Regards…….Paul

Ah! Hadn’t realised that, I’m watching it in UK right now.

Don’t bother trying to watch it if you’re not UK based – at least, not if you’re in France. You’ll get told, politely, to sling you hook! But maybe that’s not the case in Spain, David?

Gatwick 1967
Arhh! Nostalgia is not what it was! Somewhere I have my brownie box photos of that Russian helicopter (MN 10?) through the wire.
Thanks for bring back such fond memories. This ensured I remembered my old 1954 Panther 600 sloper combi which ensured visits to Gatwick, Heathrow and of course Farnborough.
