Gatwick Airport Roadworks
As from 2 days ago the Departure Ramp on the South Terminal has been closed for cars. Only Buses and Taxis are only operating from here due to the coach station on the lower floor being closed.
Spoke to a Traffic Warden who told me “Avoid Gatwick for the summer – these works are to last 6 to 8 MONTHS” also quoted “that if this works then it may be changed permantly”. He told me how rediculous this was and the traffic was back to the roadabout but he was wrong the queue started 2 miles up the M23 at 07.00 this morning.
Not good – Looking for some night flying or early starts now.

Not sure my mum is dealing with all that stuff, we are leaving our house at 4 for check-in to open at 8 and its normally a 2 – 2h 30min drive down.

Ah right, thought it was FCA.
Doesn’t matter who your taxis booked through, if theres traffic, you’ll get stuck in it!

Whitefox, AFAIK, AEU and FCA are the two charter carriers using the North terminal, BY,TCX,MON and XLA use the South.
Am I right in thinking you are flying with FCA or am i getting you confused with someone else?

T5 is correct.
The drop of area on the ramp upto the South Terminal and the lower coach park has been closed.

Glad all my flights are from Luton this summer bar one.
What do you mean by the departure ramp, I cant visualise exactly what you mean?
Maybe the drop off point outside the airport?
