I have recently received the photograph of this accident from a friends personal collection of photographs.I am not aware of any information on the accident being available so thought I should bring this photo into the public domain I spent my younger years living at Pepperscombe Farm which is situated just to the west of Steyning at the bottom of the scarp slope of the South Downs . Presumably bad visibility was the root cause of the accident From what I have heard the plane flew into the hill near the top of the scarp slope
