Once again a decent discussion is stopped for reason or reasons unknown. Yes, there was a few sarcastic comments but nobody was being rude or abusive – just a lively discussion as far as I could see. All of the other items mentioned in the moderator’s closing post were all relevant to the discussion.
Why not simply report posts or if anyone is being offensive just give the individual a warning rather than lock the whole thread? Some of us spend some time formulating coherent replies that address points others have made. To see the thread locked after all that is irritating to say the least.
I timed 13 minutes from the moderators warning until the thread was locked – there was only one more (very reasonable) reply in that time. Was that really bad enough to warrant locking the whole thread?
I understand that GD is under threat but I’ve yet to see anything recently that would warrant such draconian measures, although to be honest it would be Key’s loss; speaking personally, I’d just go elsewhere.
