For our 5 day trip we flew out from Edinburgh to Geneva on an Easyjet A319arriving about 10-30 and spent most of the day at Geneva before departing about 7pm to Zurich.
As it happened the EBACE business show was on which we didn’t know about prior to booking and there were huge numbers of Bizjets spread over the Field as a result the Spectators Terrace (behind tinted glass) was full of Spotters.
I didn’t shoot that much at Geneva so here are a few mainly from later in the day.
Fred.
Anyone know what Airport this is it was on the way from Edinburgh to Geneva, sun was on front so it’s not very good quality.

A very busy Spectators Terrace due to the EBACE show.
This is taken elsewhere not on the Terrace.

At the Holding Point for Runway 05 and shot through the fence.

Some nice shots here from Geneva too Fred. Seems like you had a great trip around Switzerland!
Quite a rarity to see the Pakistani Biz Jet! – Nice one!
The shot of Heathrow is cool – very busy on the ground as usual. Terminal 5 is certainly coming along – i’ve been to Heathrow everyday for the last week on the trot and more appears in and around that building everyday! Lately i seems the car park ramps and the drop off point in the departures area at the top of the ramps have been gettin most of the attention.

The way Polish Yak 40s USED to look. Scanned from a print (yes a print) I
took at Deblin AB in Poland.

These shots you took from the terrace (THY, Aeroflot) … did you have to
use photoshop to adjust any tone or remove reflections ? I mean, how bad
is the tinted glass …. does it make it difficult to take decent moving shots ?
Hello Woody,
The glass is a wee bit on the green side and the only one I shot was a Cityjet 146 which actually looked not too bad at all so it wouldn’t be difficult to remove the tint in Photoshop.
It was mainly Bizjets that were landing which I don’t shoot much of and anyway there is a distance issue with those from the Terrace and they don’t taxi about turn and come any closer for parking, it’s either park on the other side of the Runway or trundle along to nearer the end and park there.
You could shoot arrivals from the Terrace through the Glass I suppose but there are other spots on the Field that are better in my opinion. Another tricky one is there is a mid Field Terminal right in front when you are on the Terrace just at the angle for square on and they often go behind it, turning on the links is okay though.
The Aeroflot and Turkish departures were not taken from the Terrace but at another vantage point further along, only got about 45 minutes there and it was quiet mid day.

Arghhhh!!! Forgot to say the important thing I was posting about……
Your airport IS Heathrow. Without a doubt! You can see the terminal 5
coming along nicely. And just up a bit and left of there you can see the
six fuel tanks looking like an egg box. Not to mention the huge tower.

Good shots Freddieboyyyy.

It’s years since I’ve been on the GVA terrace … before it had glass. Last
time I was over (January) we were just outside.
I like those wee A318s. Looks like an inflatable plane you would take on the
beach to chuck around.
PWL Yak40. Good to see they still have them around. but for how long, now
that they are in the EC ? I think it was 042 that I hitched a lift in … before
they changed to red & white scheme and long before they were in the EC !!
Don’t have the flying log to hand here at work. Who cares though, it’s only
a nuuuuuumber.

Heathrow looks good from a high altitude.
A great varied selection of shots there. My favourite has to be the Alitalia and the easyJet.
Great Work

Ah yes I should have recognised the overhead Airport view as Heathrow, pity the sun wasn’t on the other side of the aircraft it would have helped with the photo.
Peter, there was no sign of a Saudi 747 on the Field mainly lots of tightly parked Bizjets.
