Please forgive me, this is a message for Geoff Brown and I can find no other means of trying to contact youΒ than the threads in this forum…!

Geoff, if you should happen to read this, I am a private Lanc enthusiast based in London.Β  I’ve been collecting for years and having pretty much all the internal components for the Lanc pilot / nav / radio sections, I recently decidedΒ to display my collection in the best way possible…Β  by building a replica of the interior of the aircraft front section.Β  Β My wife, of course, is delighted…Β  !!

To cut to the chase, I have acquired a Lanc pilot seat in many pieces…Β  a totally-original floor-mount assembly, and a box of separate parts – some which look original and others which look exactly like the components (sprayed yellow) I have seen in a post you made on this forum about seat builds you were undertaking.Β  Net, I am pretty certain that I may have some parts from your workshop.Β  Not sure how this happened, but it seems that the bloke I bought the seat from had acquired it himself from someone at Spitfire Spares.Β  The good news is that, as far as I can tell, I have everything I need to proceed with a build.Β

The person I bought the seat components fromΒ had made a start in cutting the main aluminium panels – but in trying to dry-fit these, something is very un-right about them.Β  I am – really – hoping that I could speak to you about this, ideally obtaining measurements I need to fabricate these panels myself.Β Β

Once again, please forgive this rubbish and impersonal means of trying to get hold of you…Β  it was the only lead I could find!

My best regards to you

Paul

Probably a silly question , but why make a load of Lanc instrument panels ?
Is it cheaper to make a number or do you have a number of requests ?
Look good anyway.

Like to thank you all for the comments, long way to go yet .Wonder if I might put out a cry for help locating pilots windscreen parts/castings.They are going to be a bitch to replicate, any help, leads or even original parts would be so welcome.I can then fit the cockpit glasshouse frame.[Yep its made ]Just waiting on those frames

And both almost as nice as a Stirling cockpit πŸ™‚

I think it’s fair to say that the Stirling is the biggest cockpit!

Ugly, but definitely the biggest… πŸ˜†
