Hi All and Merry Christmas.
I usually have my head in a book about Bomber Command, just wondered if anyone could recommend a good book about the German Night fighter force.
Cheers

The Other Battle by Peter Hinchcliffe is a great read.
The Scnaufer bio is a great read, as is the Night Fighters by David Williams.
I’d like to get a copy of History of the German Night Fighter Force, 1917-45″ by Gebhard Aders, will have to see

The Aders book as recommended by Peter is regarded as the definitive history. It can be a little ‘dry’ to read – if you prefer first-hand accounts, I’d also recommend Theo Boiten’s two Crowood titles, ‘Nachtjagd’ and ‘Night Airwar’….

🙂 This is an excellent book. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Schnaufer-Ace-Diamonds-Military-History/dp/0752416901
It is a biography of Heinz Snaufer rather than the Luftwaffe as a whole

My recommendation, based on what others have told me, would be “History of the German Night Fighter Force, 1917-45” by Gebhard Aders. My English language copy (currently half way down my to read pile) was published by Janes in 1979 and was picked up from one of the many good online second-hand book outlets…
