FYI, East Bristol auctions are selling a German aircraft panel this week, estimate £100. Many of these things are fake, but this one looks fairly genuine. Enjoy.

It’s 29 euros on Book Depository, with free delivery worldwide.

AA. If Amazon can’t supply The All British Marendaz Special, I expect I could send you one. My direct contact details are on www. marendazspecial.co.uk. Post me a £20 note or get your auntie in England to do a bank transfer. I realise that a bank transfer for you to UK is expensive. You’ll enjoy the book. One reviewer said it read like a crime thriller.

AA Enter Marendaz Special in ebay and it’ll come up. There’s quite a reasonable percentage on aircraft. Rgds .

Thank you, feroxeng, for that clarification. Silverware aside, the Marendaz collection appears to comprise a few interesting items amongst a great deal of ephemera. The problem, particularly with regard to the apparently indiscriminate manner in which many of the lots have been made up, is that one would have to buy a significant amount of the latter to get the few items of the former!

Read my book £13 on ebay.
You’ll have to be a little more specific, please, feroxeng.

Avion ancien. Yes, it’s the same person. His effects essentially went to his housekeeper, the late Mrs. Hesletine and it rather looks as if this is them being moved on again. Read my book £13 on ebay.

The weathering is good but it is too small at ca. 40cm max width on the cross
Please see dimensions for National Markings shown in Luftwaffe Colours.

It is interesting to note that the auction in which this panel is being offered for sale is said to include ‘the Captain Marendaz Collection’. Is that, I wonder, the enigmatic Donald Marendaz, of sports car and light aeroplane manufacturing fame (or infamy), who used the rank of captain despite only reaching the rank of lieutenant during his WW1 service in the RFC? I don’t seem to be able to find an answer to my question within the website of the auctioneer.
