the german courts have over turned a previous decision that means if terrorists hijack a plane with the purpose of crashing it into a full stadium during the world cup, it will NOT be shot down, the passengers have the right to life over the football fans….eh!! if your on a plane being aimed at a full stadium, your definatly gonna die and the german decision means so are the fans….dosn’t make any sense to me. Whats your views on this?

I think the hijacking of all flights on sept 11,put paid to all future hijack attempts, no one in their right mind is going to sit back in their seat while people try to take over a flight using basic weapons. But any decision by a government not to destroy a hijacked and not communicating aircraft as pure lunacy and shows un resolve in their anti terrorist agendas.

I agree with you guys, in a situation such as this, then lives in the air must be sacrificed, as the passengers are probably doomed anyway.
I did have a thought about this though. How about redesigning new passenger planes so that the cockpit cannot be accessed via the cabin? I know it might be less safe, but it would be more secure. What do we think?

Unbelievably stupid, remind me not to go on any plane journeys during the German world cup

Bowing to the terrorists. That’s it.
If the terrorists hijack a plane with the intent to use it as a weapon, they
WANT to crash it into SOMETHING.
If they WANT to crash it into a soccer stadium full of tens of thousands,
that;’s their objective. If they crash a hijacked plane into a stadium full
of fans, they accomplish exactly what they wish to.
If the government “lets” them by not shooting them down, they are
allowing the trrorists to accomplish their goal.
If they ANNOUNCE it publicly, they are simply telling the terrorists that
if they manage to get control of a plane in the air, they win! It’s all on
the terrorist’s terms.
If the plane is shot down, the terrorists don’t get what they really
wanted. Sure, people die, but you thwart the terrorists main goal.
Theonly way to win against terrorists is to do exactly the opposite of
what they want.
When you give in, relent, or comply, you lose.

Stupid decision made by the court. If a plane crases into a stadium you will be looking at thousands of casualties.
But a what point is the plane classed as a threat if the controller loses contact, deviation of flight plan
