German Warbird Haven

Browsing around the net, I’ve just begun to realise what a warbird haven Freiburg-im-Breisgau has become. As far as I can tell there are atleast two Yak-3’s, two Yak-9’s, two Yak-11’s, a Flug-Werke FW190 project and most recently two P51D’s have been added to the ‘fleet’ based there.
Can anyone provide any more information on the airfield and the collection based there? Are the historic aircraft part of one collection or are there several operators flying from here?

According to flugzeugforum.de they are going to move to Bremgarten soon and so will the aircraft

They are already there (have been for three weeks or so).

One of the P-51’s is ‘My darlin’ Ann’ – formally Breighton based ‘Susy’.

The aircraft are owned, or maintained/restored for different owners, by the Meier Brothers. According to flugzeugforum.de they are going to move to Bremgarten soon and so will the aircraft, so you need to go to Freiburg soon if you want to see anything, Newforest (and no I didn’t see the ISS due to night fog over Munich but thanks for the tip anyway!)

I was there a couple of weeks ago to look at another re-finishing project. Its a truly impressive place but was still being completed by the builders. It is however a private hangar and the aircraft based there are owned by a variety of clients so it may not be a great idea to assume automatic entry. Having said that the hangar doors are generously glazed!
