Germanwings have today given details about their Summer 2003 flights. New Destinations are from Cologne/Bonn to:
Bologna – twice daily
Dresden – twice daily
Edinburgh – daily
Izmir – 4 times a week
Lisbon – 4 times a week
Prague – daily
Thessaloniki – 3 times a week
Venice – daily
As you can see its quite a big expansion for a new low-cost airline. They must be doing really well. These will join:
Barcelona – daily
Berlin Tegel – 3 times daily
Istanbul – 5 times a week
London Stansted – twice daily
Madrid – daily
Milan Malpensa – twice daily
Nice – daily
Paris CDG – 3 times daily
Rome – Fiumicino – twice daily
Vienna – 3 times daily
Zurich – 3 times daily
Fleet will probably increase with a few extra planes. People in Cologne and surrounding areas must be pleased with all these routes and all the routes offered by Hapag Lloyd Express! The german market really is growing.
Edinburgh seems a funny destination!

RE: Germanwings Summer Expansion !!!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-01-03 AT 08:54 PM (GMT)]The Turkish destinations surprise me. Although they are popular tourist destinations, I always thought there were problems taking the low cost operation out of the EU for some reason, hence why we have seen no loco services to Eastern Europe to the lucrative areas of Croatia,Estonia and Slovenia for example. They should see much growth in airlines when they join the EU in a few years time.
