Just noticed, by chance, in today’s paper that Gerry Tyack died on Jan 4th aged 90. Well known for running the Wellington museum at Moreton-in-Marsh where I spent an enjoyable hour or two last year. Hope it continues in his absence.

Sad to hear of his passing. I’ve only been there once but it was a great treasure trove full of gems. Let’s hope someone keeps the place going.

I used to bump into GT when I used to do a bit of Hillclimbing best part of forty years ago. GT used to campaign one of those M635CSi ‘Batmobiles’ (I hope I’ve got the nomenclature right.) with great panache. Quite a character. RIP Gerry.

A nice old boy who ran an excellent little museum at Moreton in the Marsh.
He was an ex-Wellington aircrewman and his affection for the type was obvious. I hope the museum continues in his memory.

I seemed to recall from chatting to him that he was not aircrew – the attached provides some more details of his service as a tradesman: http://www.wellingtonaviation.org/docs/gvt.htm
The Wellington tail section which used to reside behind the gallery building at Gerry’s place was relocated to Stratford Armouries a few years back.

One hopes he is now flogging around the Moreton in the Marsh circuit with his old Crew in his beloved Wimpy…
Rest peacefully and Blue Skies..
One does hope the Museum keeps going, a fascinating place.
