Does anyone have a data plate off a Gipsy Queen 2 we could borrow please to get new blank copies made from or a good photograph taken alongside a ruler so we know the sizes. We have 2 engines here and the data plates are gone which we would like to replace. This is a none profit making venture for our own use plus copies for anyone else who needs them.
There have been some on e-bay recently but those were for the later engines so of no use, plus they were fairly expensive as well
I hope someone can help.

Gypsy Queen Engine Plate
Hi Ken,
I have a new and I believe original blank Gypsy Queen enigine plate that I am willing to sell. I aquired it along with the “H1” plate and some very old aviation books, including a Gnome 100hp Monosupape engine manual !!
The plate does have a small “ding” in it but nothing that couldn’t be rectified quite easily by a skilled person.
If this is of interest please PM me.
Cheers

Ken,
Do you have someone in mind for making up the engine plate copy? I’d be interested in having a Gipsy Major plate made up for my engine.
Cheers,
Dave

Have you tried DHAMT or RRHT?
And from the BAPC engine list the following have(had?) Queen IIs
Dumfries & Galloway: ex-Proctor R7559/G-AMAL
Hendon
MM Aviation: in Heron G-HRON; 8 in all
Newark Air Museum: Percival Proctor G-AHMP
North East Air Museum
Shuttleworth Collection: nos.61245 (port) & 60595 (stbd) in DH88 Comet G-ACSS
Roger Smith.

No problem about letting others have copies if we are able to make them. I have been sent a pic of the plate for the Queen 1 but need to check if its the same as the Queen 2.
Have dropped a note to Classic Flight to see if they can help and am waiting for a reply

Have you tried the guys at Elvington they have I am sure at least one Queen sitting in the corner of the hangar with the Anson and the Hurricane replica.

It seems strange no one has been able to help as someone must have a plate in his collection as they always seem to be missing off every engine I have seen. Even the Gipsy Six 1 just come from the USA which was donated to the Comet project has the data plate missing as well, I assume they must be very collectable then.
If anyone knows of any Queen 2’s in museums can they please let me know so I can see if there is a data plate on them I can get a picture off.
many thanks
Ken
