“Not to be out done, the Nimrod had its first engine runs for 3 1/2 years”

I’m sure I saw this fly at Legends last year, or does “engine runs” mean something different, such as calibration?

The Nimrod you saw last year was the Historic Aircraft Collections Nimrod Mk II, the TFC’s is a Nimrod Mk I.

Wonder who will do the first flight on the Gladiator. It might make sense to get one of the Shuttleworth pilots with type experience. The pool of Shuttleworth pilots used to include a fair proportion of ETPS graduates, so this would be bread-and-butter to one of them.

if i have broken copyright do remove the images

Today saw our Gloster Gladiator take big step towards its 1st flight, with engine runs. But a few niggles from the Bristol Mercury stopped play.

She did look good on the line, after being closed in the hangar for so long.

Fantastic! Well done Dave and Roy.

Does the BWB win the bet then?
