After a wait of about three weeks, this one finally managed its transatlantic deliver flight from Florida. Great colour scheme 🙂
Boeing 737-73A
Moscovia Airlines
VQ-BDI (ex-OY-MRO)

And this Boeing 747F from Air France Cargo

And although not civil, these guys are based on a civil design.
Three of the four US Army National Guard Short C-23B Sherpas passed through Prestwick on their long journey back home, I remember photographing them on their way to Iraq back in 2006 (I think). This may be the last time we see them in the UK as they are about to be replaced by the C-27J Spartan and the fourth aircraft is long term U/S in the desert and may be left there.
Arrival – 22nd May
Unfortunately I only managed to catch two of the three arriving as I had to get to work.

Departure – 24th May
With one due to head for Keflavik at 0915 and then the other two set to follow 15 minutes later, I made my way along the bank. PAT322 took off at 0928 and immediately informed ATC that he had a problem with his gear, it wouldn’t retract. One short circuit later and at 0934 322 was back on the ground and the remaining two aircraft shut down along with it. Still on the ground at the moment if anyone wants to catch these little crackers!

That’s some scheme on the 737.
I like your first shot of the US Army Poky, tilted over a bit in the wind.

Wow – awesome livery on that 737. It’s a shame to think all these new types will be replacing the old Soviets though.

I’ve flown on many civvy sheds (Loganair, Metropolitan, Capital, Gill Air, Cityflyer Express & Aurigny that I can think of) over the years and loved them, but it never ceases to amaze me that someone at Short Bros drew the plans for it and thought “yep that’ll work!”
1L.

Nice shots…that’s quite a gaudy looking livery on the 737

Well worth the wait 🙂 I remember the C23 Sherpas from the old Mildenhall trips.
