A major BBC World Service poll exploring how people in 33 countries view various countries found not a single country where a majority has a positive view of Iranβs role in the world (with the exception of Iranians themselves).
Views of Iran are lower than the US, although the US continues to get low marks, as does Russia. Views of China, France, and Russia are down sharply compared to a similar BBC World Service poll conducted at the end of 2004.
Japan is the country most widely viewed as having a positive influence, and Europe as a whole gets the most positive ratings of all.
The poll of 39,435 people was conducted for the BBC World Service by the international polling firm GlobeScan together with the Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA) at the University of Maryland. The 33-nation fieldwork was coordinated by GlobeScan and completed between October 2005 and January 2006.
Interesting. Nippon does very well, better than any other single nation. La belle France and old Blighty also looking ok.
Others not doing so well though…….

What a suprise, we hated russians more than anyone else… π
No surprise there at all. I was talking to someone from Helsinki last night – we laughed about how the Russians got their arses handed to them on a plate with their first offensive. I mean they were always going to win with weight of numbers, so the original victories were even more laudable π
