I could not believe the weather today at Goodwood. Turned out as probably the best weather day of the show season so far. Becoming bright at around 10.00 with deep blue sky following at about 14.00.
Unfortunately, despite the conditions, bad weather elsewhere put paid to over 90 per cent of the aircraft due to visit for the fly in. Many of the visitors would have come from as far away as Oxford and Norfolk.
The DC6 should be flying at Goodwood tomorrow, weather permitting.
A very good well done for all the organizers, the pilots and others involved in staging the event for an enjoyable day.
One of the following pics is a model Swordfish.
Will post some more tomorrow.

Only about ten aircraft made it to the airfield. This was particularly galling for the organisers since it is a long they had bad weather affecting an event like this.
However I did take photos of a few of them just arriving.

Anything make it to the static park, I heard they were boasting over 100 static aeroplanes, anything interesting to see?

Unfortunately, according to Flightline UK, Goodwood has been cancelled today due to waterlogging.
Sadly so. Have just got back from helping disassemble the the Historic Aircraft Association tent – very wet indeed. 🙁

What a great model that Swordfish is. It looks even better in the air. I remember seeing it parked alongside the real W5856 at Yeovilton air day a few years ago.
Great pictures by the way. Shame about the weather today. !!
