Gloster Grebe Question

Can any body tell me which squadrons had red spinners on their gloster grebes?

Thank Alex. I am just trying to identify a prop boss i have. It has slight traces of red on it. It is beautifully made with lots blocks of curved wood.

Hi,

Pre-War RAF squadrons were split into 2-3 flights. Initially it was 2 then 3 then back to 2. Each flight was distinguished by a colour, which was red, blue or yellow. I’m not 100% sure which colour was which flight.

The aircraft within each flight had the wheel covers and usually the spinner painted in the flight colours.

So basically any of the squadrons that operated the Grebe would have had red spinners.
