Can anyone tell me whether the above aircraft is still in existance or has been scrapped. Or can someone suggest a way to find out about this aircraft?
Thanks in advance.
Chris.

Scrapped by Hanningfield Metals, Stock, Essex, by April 1990. Here she is again on the gate at Manston, albeit now devoid of indentification.

Shame the cockpit at least wasn;’t saved.

Thanks for the quick response. The reason I asked is because I’ve acquired some documents relating to modifications / inspections for that aircraft, although I can only see XH 764 written, no other numbers. I’ve also in posession of the original Certificate of Inspection and Acceptance – it makes interesting reading.

This is a long way from being a good quality photograph, but here she is in about 1966, caught on long-faded Kodachrome.

seat in existance
One of the Ejector seats said to be from this aircraft was sold recently by Chris of Jet Art fame I seem to recall.
Not sure if anything else of the aircraft survived, so it could be that all that’s left is a sole bang seat 🙁

Have you tried just ‘Googling’ ‘Javelin XH764’?
You’ll find out that :
XH764 was Allocated maintenance number 7972M. It was displayed at RAF Manston in the markings of 87 Squadron. This Javelin was scrapped in 1990.
There’s a picture on airliners.net etc

It was scrapped in 1990, according to the usually very reliable UK Serials website:
