Hi “Wildcat”
Thank you.
I hope that you can find your listings.I need a prove that 187 Sqn had these meteors although it is not logical. If they did not fly them,Then who?
Avi
You can contact the Dept of Research at the RAF Museum at Hendon and ask them to send you copies of the Movements Record Card for these aircraft. That will have all the allocation details recorded on it.

They were all ex RAF airframes, refurbished by Flight Refuelling at Tarrant Rushton 1954/5.
Not long moved house and my listings of all meteors are in a box (somewhere). Hopefully during this weekends spell of unpacking the list will be found.
187Sqn was reformed from No2 Ferry Unit 1953 . Dakota III/IV until 1957.
79Sqn FR.9’s 1951-6
92Sqn Mteor F3-4 an 6 1947-54.

Hi.
I have found that RAF 187 sqn was a transport sqn.Is it logical that they had Meteors?

Meteor allocations
Hi.
Thank you for your reply.
I have found in the UK SERIALS RESOURCE CENTER website that all of these aircraft were sold to Glosters after WFU.
I have found in another website that all of these aircraft were refubished in Terrant Rashton before delivery.
AEROFLIGHT quotes that the FR.9 were refubished at Flight Refueling LTD.
Was Fight Refueling located at Terrant Rashton?
Also,Is it possible that the IAF had received BRAND NEW fr.9 with no RAF Sqn allocation?
Waiting for your comments.
Thank you

Meteor Allocations
Hi all.

WL259
WX963
WX967
WX975
WX980
WB123
WB140Thank you.
avinoam549 – this might help,
WL259 – No RAF History – delivered straight from Gloster Aircraft to Israel and coded No. 212
WX963 – No RAF History – delivered straight from Gloster Aircraft to Israel as No. 216
WX967 – 187 Sqn, Gloster Aircraft (03/09/54), to Israel as No. 211
WX975 – 187 Sqn, Gloster Aircraft (23/08/54), to Israel as No. 215
WX980 – No RAF History – delivered straight from Gloster’s to Israel as No. 217
WB123 – 92 Sqn, 2 Sqn, then to Gloster’s (09/08/54) and to Israel as No. 213
WB140 – 79 Sqn, 208 Sqn, then to Gloster’s (09/08/54) and to Israel as No. 214
As you’ve probably worked out, they are all Gloster-built FR.9’s and some more information can be found here: http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/waf/israel/types/meteor.htm
Steve may be able to help with further, more detailed information than the Air Britain list I’ve referred to.

Well their histories are all listed in my Meteor book, but my copy is at home and my PC is at work. If no-one else picks this up for you, I will do my best to look them up.
