Gnats over Jersey

In the middle of preparing our evening meal last night, when I heard a different sound to the usual 737’s 146’s and Q400’s that use the local airport, so I nipped out into the back garden just in time to catch sight of the rearend one of these flying overhead.

Later on I managed to nip up to the airport to investigate and get a picture, it’s not airshow week so why they are in Jersey I have no idea.

Gnatsin the desert

Support aircraft. What support aircraft? 😉 A techie in a back seat with spare undies in one pocket and a screwdriver in the other was all that got our intrepids via Jersey, Bordeaux, Gibraltar and Marakesh! 😎 Well that and some planning of air starter positioning. A Gnat will achieve almost an hour and a half with oxygen and altitude. Less economical low down.

An interesting question but surely just as interesting would be details of the routing and support aircraft?

how true….that would be very interesting to know particularly as gnats with slippers have an endurance of about 50mins tops. The most logical route would be to stage via france and spain, but les frogs aren’t particularly fond of vintage warbirds and pathalogically loath vintage jets.
