Gnome rhone raid 617 sq

Hi can anybody help here please my brother is in the raf and needs to do a talk on the Gnome Rhone raid by 617 squadron i cant find much in any book i have.Could anybody please tell me more about this raid and the consiquences(spelt wrong no doubt) it had on the axis please i know it was lead by Cheshire vc and they flew low level marking but anymore details you can add please would help me to help him.Cheers
