God,Allah,Buddha, whatever you want to call it doesn't exist

If it did why do we have all the suffering in the world.

Prove it/him exists , PLEASE.

Pissed off with this world and all the bad things done in it’s name or not.

Come on God ,prove you are here, cure ill’s,wars etc.

Really?

Some but not all of science does as you say and some but not all of that, that is religion, does as you say.

Yes is as accurate as no.

I am in the same camp but respect the views of those who are not.

Charlie, Missed being able to post, but business has been mad, I’ve been able to pop on for a bit but not really able to post.

That’s the thing with religion. Very well put though, I have to agree.

“Believers believe, agnostics aren’t sure and atheists don’t”

I’m in the atheist camp, but if you or enyone else believes, no issue here.

You haven’t missed anything Mr M – believers believe, agnostics aren’t sure and atheists don’t. And one or two find it difficult to accept that others hold a contrary view to their own.

I can’t be bothered to read ten pages.
I don’t believe in God. But if a person does believe that’s fine with me.
What I don’t like is someone knocking on my door and telling me how wonderful God is. They get told to naff off!
Enjoy your religion if that makes you happy, but don’t try and convert me and shove your God on me.

But much of science relies on proof and/or peer research. Anything that does not work out is generally dismissed.
Religion, on the other hand, relies on belief in a book basically written two thousand-odd years ago with no verified evidence outside of its pages which demands worship for an unseen supreme being and, for much of history, not following the guidance as laid down within its pages could result in your death as a heretic.

Yes.

I recon it’s been established, that there are some who believe there is a God, and some who do not, which is fair comment, but both sides surly believe in HOPE, is HOPE, a substitute word for God, which both the believers and none believers, Do believe in?.

The first section of your piece is undeniable but as for linking hope and god I cannot see any connection but then as a non-believer why would I? And for believers god is certainty rather than hope so I still don’t see a connection.

Religion i think is for people who can’t handle the thought that this is it,that we are solely to blame for our actions, that when the end comes there isn’t anything else-final,finito.People are scared of the end ,full stop so they have to have a mental crutch to help them.
The accident happened because it was an act of god, the young innocent child died because God wanted an Angel ,things happen because God works in mysterious ways -just a way of blaming something else for something with no proof whatsoever.
No one has ever come back from the dead to proclaim there is a God [ or not] .

It is fine for people to want to believe until they start wars in it’s name, suppress others who in their own minds are believing in THEIR god, condemn those who don’t want to believe. If you did those things in the name of a human leader that would be seen as a ruthless dictator, where’s the difference.

Maybe God is holy but his/hers/it’s supporters are at times acting on the criminal in it’s name–ironically is that what God would want?

There now do you feel better
You repeat, to the point of being ludicrous, the same fatuous rhetoric but then if that is all you have, have at it.
Have a nice day.

You could have just said “I’m too effing thick headed to answer any questions”… but we already knew that.

Take a stab at explaining why a supposedly omnipotent deity has failed to convince the vast majority of its creations of its own existence?

For most believers, when their religious beliefs are involved, facts, logic, and truth doesn’t matter; all that matters to them is their belief. Yet so many people wonder why so many atheists find “religious/faith-based thinking” utterly absurd and potentially harmful.

This person cannot even admit they made the simple and common mistake of following their confirmation bias, and not doing a simple Google search to see if they were correct. Instead, they ran with the belief because it “felt good,” while doubling down on their intellectual dishonesty.

This, my friends, is how delusions are created and reaffirmed…Believe because you want to believe, then reject all contrary evidence and reason as “mere opinion.”

Sorry religionists, you cannot discount evidence as “mere opinion,” while simultaneously trying to raise your faith-based delusional beliefs to the level of evidence; neither should you expect to be taken seriously or given any level of consideration in the process of your doing so.

Furthermore, it is unreasonable to become upset if/when people ridicule your patently absurd attempts to raise your faith-based beliefs to the level of evidence and logic.

Prayer is nothing but a religious person wanting to show they care & think by chanting magic spells that they can help matters, yet requires no actual effort on their part whatsoever. If I was to say “I’ll peel a grape for you” it would actually require more effort, but the ultimate result would be the same: You wouldn’t feel any different, it wouldn’t affect anything (except the grape I just peeled), but you get to sanctimoniously appear like you care. It is the most insincere bullcrap you could possibly do & quite frankly it insults peoples intelligence.

btw, Nice try playing the persecution card, but placing facts in front of willfully ignorant idiots isn’t persecution, it’s called facing reality.

Rather like a moth to a light bulb, wouldn’t you say?

Hmmm, probably in the same way scientists are attracted to new theories despite the lack of anything close to facts supporting the theory.
