Going to be away for a few days

I’m booked to get the last bit of my plumbing sorted tomorrow, so here’s hoping I will be back online in a couple of days, they gave me a 70% chance they can clear the artery.

So hopefully will speak soon 🙂

Hi All,
Charlie,
As it is now the NHS is not able to cope, the NHS relies on those who are not ill paying into the system while they are at work does it not ? with more and more people being unemployed, adding to that any migrants, adding to that NHS health tourists who will pay for all this ? You can’t pay bills if you do not generate enough income that’s more my point and I fear that what is on it’s way is the US system of coarse I could be completely wrong.

Geoff – you are entitled to your opinion of course but to make suggestions for which there is not a scintilla of evidence seems a bit pointless.

Hi All,
Jim,
I can see that with the UK’s population explosion especially in the coming year or so with the influx of immigrants this will lead to a worsening situation within the health service so we have to make the best of it while we can, as believe you me the UK is heading towards an insurance based health care system as the USA has unfortunately. But just glad that you and Tony are on the mend and you should both take the Dr’s advice and rest up for a few days at least before trying to get back to any semblance of a routine daily activity that could possibly create more problems……:eagerness:

Thanks Guys for your remarks. Today, the “Fog” has cleared, and I can take the convex plastic eye protector off in the daytime, but have to put it on during the night to stop the possibility of rubbing my eye, and displacing the implant. Things went fine during the Op, the worst bit was right at the end, when they inject the eyeball, BOY, that made my toes curl up. The bummer is no driving for 4 weeks, but I am sure things will be O.K. I am amazed at what todays Surgeons can do, when 50yrs ago, what Tony, and I have had done would have been impossible.
We MUST keep the N.H.S. at whatever the cost, I have a friend in the USA, who cannot afford Health Insurance, and is having to sell their family home, so he can have surgery on his kidney. We, here, take the NHS for granted, pleased I don’t live abroard in any other Country.

Good news, Jim can’t see properly to type, so it’s good news, open house on Jim….

Seriously though, he is ok, his eye feels like he is blinking over a brick and is blurred and sore, the downer is no driving for three to four weeks on doctors orders, been there, seen it and done it , got the teeshirt, as I had the same with my artery problems, he will miss the months driving, because I know I did.

I hope so too, Linc.:) And picking up on the previous theme – I was going to suggest it sounded like a “long” operation, but having seen your reply to John it’s clearly no more than a snip!!:D

Another latecomer to this thread. Hoping all is well, young Tony. And keep posting so we know you’re still around 😉

And best of luck to you as well, Jim. You’re both part of the forum furniture now!

Rob

I agree about the furniture bit, we are both a pair of antique wooden sods, in need of restoration………………….:D

Jim,

A certain delicacy forbids me to enquire much further but, I can’t resist. You’re not in for penile augmentation are you ?

Another latecomer. All seconded…Linc, is your op related to the one you had a year or more ago…?

Yes Chas it is. I hope it’s the last one this year. I have a Season Ticket between 4 Hospitals, for one thing or another. Thank God for the NHS..Lets hope we can keep it afloat.
