Yes, it’s either that or the An-12 9L-LCR. Whichever it is – what a fantastic plaything!

Besides, what would a B-29 or a TU-4, be doing in Africa? You’d have more luck finding a Stirling in China.

Or Spitfires in Burma?

Looks loads like a B29? Or the Russian equivalent/reverse-engineered one?

Not even close, a B-29 has a teardrop shaped flat bomb aimers panel.

I was thinking the same. Ilyushin?

Antonov 8 by the look of it – akin to the AN-12 but twin engined looking at one of the photos on that link.

Looks like it could be that transport in photo 18, looks Russian but I’m not good at Russian a/c. From the insde it does B29 at first glance.

I’d happily bet it’s Russian

I was thinking exactly the same. Over here somebody would be worrying about the sharp edges or whether they could fall from the wing.

It doesn’t seem to me that kids are allowed to have much fun these days.

If only kids in UK were still allowed to have such fun! rather than sat in front of a screen all day long. I recall climbing over a few wrecks in my time – although nothing as big as a DC8.

This was over in GA – but I think you’ll find some interesting ‘historics’ if you follow the link
