Peter Holloway’s Storch took to the air today at Old Warden for the first time after restoration in the capable hands of Dodge Bailey. Perfect conditions. Congratulations to all involved with the project.

If you want to see what the Storch could do, take a look at YouBend – unsurprisingly, there’s at least one great clip posted by Bomberguy – where does he get the stuff?
Must get to OW… Must get to OW… Must get to OW…

Daz – it’s got metal wings on a Morane reworked German frame from memory. The last true Storch to fly was the former Italian example in the U.K which is now on static display in Italy. Kermit Weeks has a wooden winged example under rebuild but I am not sure of it’s history.

Wow!
I’d love to see it fly and do STOL operations.

Well done to Peter, Dodge and everyone else who has been involved in this planes restoration. Sadly i could not make it along to Old Warden today with two job interviews and a driving lesson.

Did they need to bother with the runway, I wonder? :diablo:
Nice to see it – must head for OW again this year, and see the Hairywaffe in the flesh. Anyone know what the “manual” take-off roll is?

Looks very nice. Big congrats to the team.
Am I right in thinking this is a genuine Storch, and not a Morane-built Criquet?
