Maybe a DC-4, then. Mind you, the tailfin has the squarer top profile of a DC-6B, but that could be down to the artist who drew it.
Whatever the aircraft, these tickets are of immense interest. Thank you for posting them.

Does someone have a way to find out which type United was operation on this route back then?
I can’t make out the date on the ticket but the aircraft looks like a DC-6B to me.
