We got to the hare n hounds at 2.05pm, the young lady told us that food had finnished but if we went to the next village there is a pub that serves all day, I ask how far two miles ? oh no just the next village she replied.
as we were on the bike, put all the kit back on drove two miles back to main bedford road,,,, NO PUB,,,,, turned round back two miles to Hare n Hounds to be told oh you have to turn left under the bridge,,,, then left at next junction to get to the next vilage ie the black horse !..
Got to Black Horse at 2.35 to be told that food stopped at 2.30.
so back on the bike into Shuttleworth for sarnies and a bit of bread pudding, impressed the girlfriend no end !.
still great show anyway

The Black Horse
The Pub in Ireland is called “The Black Horse” and it is indeed a very fine pub with superb food. Can’t comment on whether it serves food Sunday evening though

Any recommendations on pubs (with food) around OW that are open after a Sunday flying display (6pm ish) – been looking for years, but never found one.

The White Horse in the village of Broom is also a good pub. There is also another pub in the village called the The ****, there is no bar as such, beer is served directly from the cellar.
Ha Ha. it won’t show the name. Cockerel without the erel.
Neal;)

Good Pub in Old Warden
Definitley the Hare and Hounds, however get there early because as well as being damned good, it is damned popular!
See you in there for a pint before the show!:D

All three fore mentioned pubs are excellent, and they are all within easy reach of Shuttleworth. Try out them all if you can!If you are planning a visit, you may need to book, depending on the day.

The pub in the previous post is the Hare and Hounds in Old Warden village. If coming from the A1 continue past Shuttleworth about 1/2 mile into the village and pub is on the left.
As a local, I would also recommend the White Horse in Southill. Not too far from Shuttleworth and nice food or The Crown in Northill.
If the weather is good it should be a great day.:)

Yes there is an excellent pub on the left hand side just as you enter the village, food was good and real ale cool.
Unfortunately I’ve taken their card out of my wallet, if I recall correctly it’s either opposite the church or village hall.
