I think its been rumoured up until now, but today its official:
Tour operator First Choice has announced a £1 million plan to drop the names of some of its businesses and bring them under one banner…
…As a result, charter airline Air 2000 and travel agents Travel Choice, Travel Choice Express and Bakers Dolphin will become known as First Choice.
The group will rebrand its Holiday Hypermarkets business as First Choice Holiday Hypermarkets…
…Chief executive Peter Long said the British holidaying public instantly recognised the First Choice name. “Through one brand, we will reinforce this recognition and enable the public to more easily differentiate First Choice,” he said.
The group said other businesses in its portfolio, such as Unijet, Falcon, JWT, Eclipse and Sovereign, would retain their names.
Thats another great charter brand gone; what a shame!

I agree with the name sounding dated, but First Choice is definitely much simpler.

🙁 IMO Air 2000 wasn’t a bad name providing it’s a charter airline.
It’s going to be ‘First Choice Airways’ apparently, but I think ‘Air First Choice’ sounds better as naming it ‘First Choice Airways’ is just what MyTravel have done, knocking the word ‘airways’ on the end of the brand name which I personally find sounds a bit tacky.
So after the new coloursheme, they have to start ripping the name off the side now!
I think it’s my fault, as it was when I flew with AIH last year that they changed to MYT, and i’m flying with AMM in 3 weeks! 😀
