After 41 years of service, amphibious assault ship USS Austin (LPD 4) was decommissioned Sept. 27, during a ceremony at Naval Station Norfolk.”its time to turn over the watch”.

Indian Navy will be buying one of the older Austin Class LPD , So the legacy is here to stay for some time
