A trio of programmes would be nice… “Sink or Swim” the recovery of the Dornier… “A Crate to Late” Burmas mysteries and “A Beach out of Reach” recovery of the Welsh P38…… That would do me for next year 😀

Restoration?
I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t break up when removed from sand. Seawater does nasty things to Aluminium if not properly cathodically protected. I hope I am wrong though.
Kind regards,
Scotty

I think the expectation is that “conserved” is the only realistic option. Given that the aircraft it likely to be severely affected by the salt water, essentially a restoration would mean throwing all of the original material away.

This is very good news. I did not see any of the previous thread but has it been decided what condition it will be displayed in? I guess it must be either ‘as found’ (and conserved) or restored? I will hope for the ‘restore’ option.
