Gosport and buried Merlins.

FWIW I reproduce below an eMail I have just received from an (almost) anonymous sender.

Location is Gosport Aerodrome(Hampshire)

I have no idea if there is any truth in what supposedly happened…

dear sir a freind i work with told me his father worked at this airfeild after the war and they had a some brand new merlin engines still in there crates. he tells me they were exsess to requirements and buried under the airfield how true this is i dont know. do you know about this at all.
