GRAVESEND MEMORIAL SERVICE THIS SUNDAY

Just to let interested forum members know:

A small wreath laying ceremony will take place at the memorial to Flt Sgt Eric Williams in Gordon Gardens, Gravesend, Kent, on Sunday 11 November at 12.30pm. The ceremony will be attended by Eric’s daughter, Jennifer, from the USA and other family members along with the local MP Adam Holloway and members of the team who brought the case of Eric Williams to light over twenty years ago and who have since campaigned, with his family, to see his body recovered for burial with full military honours before the crash site is re-developed. Any forum members wishing to attend would be more than welcome.

It is hoped, weather permitting, that a Spitfire flypast will take place over the river at 1 o’clock.

It is heart warming to see that even though he is yet to be recovered he will at least be commemorated.

Were I not at Ypres I’d be there.

Moggy
