Hi
My first time at Dawlish. This place must be one, or if not, the best place to have an air show.
I must have gone through six gigs on helicopters alone. The flying was very good. Just a few pics. I may add more later if I have time.
The only disappointment was that the Tornado fly through was cancelled and so did the two Hercules. The BBMF cancelled, I presume because of the weather elsewhere. Weather at Dawlish was good on the whole though a few showers mid PM.
Cheers
Martin

Fantastic shots especially the synchro pair – outstanding to get them both in focus!

Love the Hunter , you can almost feel the heat
Where were you ?
Stephen
Me too! I used to feel the heat on a daily basis at Chivenor – mind you, the gear was down and in contact with terra firma on ‘most’ occasions.
Great picture!

Wish I could have gotten up that hill, it’s very steep, but you did get a much more advantageous position – looking down on the beach.
The Hunter didn’t come close enough to the Inn itself for me to get anything worthwhile, but I doubt if I could have got a better shot than that anyway.
Would love to see more.
I did manage to walk around the choppers though, and was lucky enough to be allowed to rest on the Merlin crews John Deere runabout.
Maybe I’ll be luckier next year, when I’ll have a class 3 mobility scooter, powerful enough to run along the path at the top of the hill/cliff.
Did you see how low that last RA Hawk flew over the Inn? Apart from being inside an aircraft in flight, I’ve never been closer to anything flying.:D

Thank you for yiour nice comments. I will post some more tomorrow evening as I will not have much time to do anything else:)
I was up a hill that is beside The Smugllers Inn and positioned beside a fence. Some of the Helicopters park at the bottom of the hill. The Hunter came in from around and behind.
Thanks

Never seen that effect that has come from the wing tips before, looks like the picture is torn

The Hunter shot is very unusual. I really like it. Are you going to post a few more?
