Fingers crossed. . .

Many thanks Propstrike. I meant shots specifically at G-VFWE last weekend for purely personal reasons but that is a very nice picture. Cheers.

If any member has good images of Super Cub G-BLMI (in Dutch AF markings R-55) landing, taking off or taxying to leave, I would be interested in hearing from you off line.
Air-air any good?

Average age of ground-gripping visitors…about the same as the aeroplanes we had come to enjoy!

Janie, I have a head start so you won’t catch me!
Guess you waited beside the runway for her?:o Saw the landing and hope everything is okay?

Happily the wind was less scary than forecast, though I plodded field-by-field against a brisk headwind on Sat eve, and then the wind went round overnight and became an easterly, so I had a headwind home on Sun 😡
In Sunday, the level of activity never got high enough to feel that the event had really started, and looking at the actual arrivals versus the slot allocations showed the ‘plan’ had unravelled somewhat.
I suspect that operators of vintage aeroplanes have a problem fitting into an inflexible regime, and are more affected by weather conditions, especially if they are coming any distance. In the end, the mental ‘hassle factor’ of complying with a fixed arrival slot makes it all seem too much like hard work.
Allegedly, the ‘system’ was abandoned at some stage on sunday, and attempts made to hussle-up some more visitors.
Seemingly the CAA had insisted it had to be done this way.

Oz, flying in slots run upto 13:30 and display flying 13:30 to 14:30. Vintage park open to public 12:30 to 14:30. Kemble info on 118.90.
I would guess actual last arrival slots are before 13:30 because no dsiplays will be able to take place with aircraft landing.

Anybody seen the AIC which says AFIS is on 130.675 and ATIS is on 118.9. The briefing sheet gives Info on 118.9 Any idea what time the “airshow” will be on as I could be a bit tight on my slot?

Re radio, on the procedures sheet sent out with slot confirmation it has a heading communications which says non-radio to follow above routing.
Might be worth a call to see if your slot is a double.

I might be going on the Sat, waiting to hear if a slot becomes available.
Update, the kind people there have managed to fit me in so hope to see people there.
I’m already on a mission with the mighty Moth on saturday – have a commercial booking in the midlands, I only have sunday to play at Kemble and as I get to enjoy saturday in the Tiger, its my colleagues turn with her on the sunday….

Oh er Missus!!! I am late morning Sat. Do I have to watch my 6?
You bet, Mr Chaos. The mighty raw, unharnessed power of the Gipsy horses can catch any Harvard (given enough hours).
Sat slot = 12:48
Sun slot = 12:21
My radio is kaput at the moment. Can anyone tell me if that is going to hinder my arrival? I can hear OK, but am transmitting carrier wave only. I know my lamp signals.
