Greatest ever.

OK, your personal list of people who you think were very important for history: here’s my list.

1. Aristotle: The founder of the western civilization. There were however important philopshers in the pre-Aristotle era like Socrates, Plato and Thales from whom Aristotle has learned a lot, but I think he’s my number one.

2. Emperor August : Introduced the pax Romana, was able to bring peace for more than 200 years in the Roman Empire, but still, he continued to introduce the Roman culture to all kinds of tribes and people.

3. Charles V : Had the greatest European empire since the demise of the Imperium Romanum.

4. Immanuel Kant : German 18th century philosopher. He managed to bring together the French Rationalists and the British empirists (Descartes/Spinoza and Hume/Bacon).

5. Benjamin Franklin : great philopsher, scientist and politician.
